HISTORY

Native Coloradan Richard Gängl has been building his custom bicycles since 1979. His shop is located in the foothills of Golden Colorado, home of the Coors Brewery and the Colorado School of Mines. With 40 years of racing and over 100 career victories on the road and track, Rich has the extensive knowledge of how to create a perfect custom bicycle. Over the years Rich has built frames using steel, carbon fiber, aluminum and titanium. His specialty is in classic lugged or fillet brazed steel and tig-welded titanium frames.

Rich’s frames have been ridden to numerous victories at World, National and State championships. While Rich has built frames for multiple world class cyclists, most of his clients are bike enthusiasts and riders of all types.

Gängl Custom Cycles is a one-man operation where every aspect of the frame building process is done by Rich himself. Fitting, frame design, building, painting and assembly are done in house. All of his frame jigs and various fixtures that can bee seen throughout the shop have been designed and built by him.

Along with building custom framesets, he also does restorations on vintage and classic bicycles. Cyclists will be drawn to his bicycles by the incredible paint work and attention to detail that will be found on each and every frame.
